Announcing.... Holynd Reece Peterson!

We love our Baby Bean!
She's here! We're so excited. She's beautiful and perfect!

Born: 12-28-08 at 10:56am
Weight: 6lbs 15.8oz
Length: 20 inches

On the 26th, I went in for an Amnio to check her lung maturity. On the 27th, the doctors at University Hospital told us her lung were mature, her weight was awesome and that we needed to come in two hours later to start my induction. (Bean had a few complications they were worried about, so they decided to start me early to check on her.) We were totally surprised and scared. After 19 hours of labor, she's here and she's perfect. She's home with us now. We wouldn't trade her for anything. Even Heckles likes her!

Here are her first few pictures... I'm sure I'll have many more to come!

Enjoy!

As for Holynd's Guessing Game, my sister Tierra was closest on the date and my mom was the closest on the weight! So.... I guess they can treat themselves to some chocolate or something!

Here comes the stork!!!

Hey everyone! Just a little update! We had an Amniocentisis to check on Bean's lung maturity yesterday. She's ready!!!!!!!!!!!!

They're going to start inducing me this afternoon and hopefully by tomorrow our little Bean will be here! We're so excited! And a little nervous! (Well, I'm A LOT nervous, they think Bean is close to 8lbs! I wonder where she got those genes!)

We'll keep you all updated and post pictures soon!

Just... Wake me when it's over!

Just wake me when the pregnancy is over, finals are over, winter is over...etc.
I quit!

So, we've been "Blogger Slackers" lately.... Between school, work, Bean preparation, hospital visits, Ultrasound visits and Christmas decorating... We've been a little sidetracked! Bean likes to keep us on our toes by scaring us every couple of days. I guess she has to entertain herself somehow! I think it might be because when I stress... I eat everything in sight, so she gets lots of fun treats! Anyway, here are some pictures of what we've been up to! ENJOY!

This is a notice to Bean. You have 30 days to pay or vacate. Since I'm pretty sure you don't have a job or a means of income for rent, we're going to need you to vacate. Sorry!

We put Christmas lights up on our little deck! We learned quickly that you always test the lights before putting them up. Matt got the lights all put up and then realized that half of them didn't work. We ended up having to take them down, return them and then put the new ones back up again. Don't worry though, Matt insisted on taking them out of the box at Wal-Mart and unplugging half their Christmas displays in order to test them before we left the store.

Heckles refused to stay inside while Matt put the Christmas lights up. He was a big help by sticking his head through the bars and barking at nothing.

Matt got Bean's carseat a couple of days ago! She's going to be so cute in it! I hope we can figure out how to put it in my car!

So Heckles was really excited when we took the carseat out of the box.... 'cause he wanted to live in the box. He slept in there for about a week and then started to chew on the flaps. I finally got sick of having box pieces everywhere and threw it away. He was a little upset.

This is our last year with just to stockings on our mantel! Next year Bean will need one!

Here is our Christmas tree! I put it up the day before Thanksgiving against Matt's pleas. When he's big and pregnant, he can decide when we put our Christmas tree up!

So I decided that the dog needed his own Christmas tree... It had these cute ornaments on it, but he ate them. So now he just has his stocking on it and a "Mistle-Toad" for his tree topper. He likes to bury his treats behind it.

This is our little Christmas table setting! We haven't been able to eat at our table since I put it up, but I'm too pregnant to cook anyway!

So, we're patiently (Ok... Not very patiently) waiting for our little Bean to arrive! I'm completely out of room for her, so I hope she makes her appearance in the next couple of weeks! We'll post pictures as soon as she comes! (Especially since we've learned after a few trips to the hospital how boring it can be! We'll have a laptop close by!)

84 days and counting!!!!!!

So, my due date is in 84 days.... Sometimes it seems close and other times it seems so far away!!!! The dr finally gave me something (besides a gallon of milk and 7 tums a day) for my heartburn, which has been heavenly! It's made it a little bit easier to sleep at night. Now if he could just give me something for my "elephant feet/cankles/sausage toe" syndrome.

Bean is moving around like crazy. She really enjoys keeping me up all night long. She especially likes to put her little feet-sies under my rib cage. (My right bottom rib is pretty much completely numb.) She jumps when Matt's alarm goes off in the morning and even when the dog barks. Matt and I like to put Skittles on my tummy when she's really active and watch her kick them off!

Matt's still trying to paint the nursery in his "spare time" and he's starting to get used to my crazy mood swings. He's even gotten to be quite the cook. (As long as I'm in the living room giving him step-by-step instructions.)

We bought Bean her first stuffed animal!!!!! We call her Pei-Pei. She a piggie ballerina!!!! I decided I wanted to do Bean's room in a ballerina theme. So when I saw the pig at Target, I couldn't resist! Anyway, I've been reluctant to post a belly picture 'cause I feel HUGE lately! But since it's getting so close to the end, I figure I might want the memory someday! I also had to post a picture of Pei-Pei and Bean's "Homecoming" outfit. (I found the outfit at Carter's in Park City. It's been one of my baby clothes store so far! Alissa gave us the blanket and than I found the accessories at Target.)

Matt and I have been taking mid-terms the last couple of weeks! I took my last one today! I have no idea how it happened, but I had three in one week. It was a little bit stressful and Matt had a very unhappy pregnant wife for a few days. I'm so glad this week is over! I've also arranged to take all my finals early so that nothing can get in the way if Bean makes an early appearance. (But not too early Bean!)

Sunshine Daisies!

So my sister Tevyn has turned 16! She went to Homecoming last month (Yeah, I'm a little behind!) and she looked so gorgeous I had to post some pictures!

1 year! That's right... One whole year!

So, Matt and I celebrated our anniversary this weekend! Yep! We've been married for a whole year.... And I've been pregnant for half of it! It was a blast! We spent Saturday night in Park City and got to do some serious shopping for Bean! When we got to our hotel room, we had Sparking Cider and Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries waiting for us! Bean loved the Sparking Cider and I was pretty much drinking it right out of the bottle by the end of the night. (Which gave me heartburn so bad, Matt had to go to Albertson's and get me some milk.... I am now totally capable of drinking a half-gallon of milk is under 6 hours.... Jealous?)

So, we know that not a lot of couples celebrate their 1st anniversaries by shopping for baby clothes... But we had fun. We found ton of stuff at Old Navy and Carter's. Matt joked that our baby had enough clothes to wear something different everyday for her entire first year. (Which isn't true... And I'm thinking it doesn't sound like such a bad idea) We also learned that buying baby gear is harder than it seems. After going to seven different stores looking for an infant car seat, we have no car seat. I've decided that shopping at home from my couch with Matt's debit card is my shopping method of choice from now on. (Note to new parents: Most of the baby gear in the stores is only a fourth of the baby gear stores carry.... Most baby gear sale items are only available online. I'm ordering our car seat from target.com for HALF of what we would've paid shopping at Target in person. Plus, shopping in your living room, while watching Friends and wearing jammies... pretty much rocks!)

Matt started painting the baby's room! YAY! With Matt's schedule, the baby's room is pretty slow going, but it's going to be cute once it's finished! We're planning on keeping her in a bassinet in our room for the first few months, so we're ok with taking our time with her room.

Fall break is this week!!!! We're so excited to get a break! We're also close to half way done with this semester and despite a few incidents... (Labor and Delivery visit, fainting on trax, etc.) it's been a fun semester. (And yes, I really did faint on trax one morning.... See below)

So pregnancy is fun, but I am thrilled to say that there's 96 days left until my due date! We've reached double digits... Finally! Morning sickness has started to show up again.... I get really really light-headed in the morning and have found that's it's just easier to eat after class, than trying to eat breakfast and loosing it before class. The first time my morning sickness showed up I was headed to an early class. I got on trax just like any other morning but had a little bit of a stomach ache. As the train headed toward Salt Lake, I started to feel really sick. I knew I COULD NOT throw up on trax so I figured I would just get off on the next stop and rest for a bit and catch the next train. As the train stopped, I went to stand up.... and immediately came back down.... I blacked completely out and was lucky enough to be caught by a Senior Missionary before I hit the train floor. It was more embarassing than anything! I called Matt afterward and he came and got me from the trax station and talked me into going home for the day. I spent the rest of the day hiding my face, worried that someone would reconize me from that morning.

Our crazy day....

So Matt and I made our first trip to Labor and Delivery yesterday. It was really scary for a little while, but I'm home and resting (and still pregnant, thank goodness!).

I had been feeling sick and exhausted for a couple of days. Yesterday, when I woke up, I could barely move, I was so uncomfortable. I could barely pull myself into our truck to go to school. About half way through my first class, I started getting waves of nausea and even more pain, so I decided I need to call and let my dr know.

I called Matt and told him I needed to call the dr. Matt said he'd take a quick lunch and drive up to campus to make sure everything was ok. Well, when I called the dr, they told me I would need to come in right away. I told them I could make it down in about an hour or so. Knowing that I may get sent to Labor and Delivery if they wanted to monitor me I got something to eat. (Labor and Delivery will not let you eat while they're monitoring you, just in case you start to go into labor... So if anyone makes a similar trip, try and grab something to eat so you don't starve!)

When we got to the dr I was so scared and in so much pain that I could barely wait for the dr. I was in tears and really upset. My dr sent me right over to the hospital. When I got to the hospital, they immediately got me in to a Labor and Delivery room... Which was a little scary. I was expecting to be in more of an examination room, rather than the real thing. They got me into bed and strapped a whole bunch of monitors on me and I immediately became a human science experiment. They took blood and ran a whole bunch of different tests..... It was awful. On the upside, it was amazing to sit there and just listen to our baby's heartbeat on a monitor the whole time. It made me want to take that machine home with me.

They finally came in (after almost four hours!) and said that I wasn't going into active labor, but I needed to stay down and pay close attention to my baby for a couple of days. I was fine with that! We left, went home and laid around our living room for the rest of the night. I'm definately excited to have my baby, but I hope she stays put for a few more months!

1. I can't share my bathroom. When I'm in the bathroom getting ready, Matt knows that he can't even walk near the doorway.

2. I'm a wrinkle-natzi. Everything has to be ironed before wearing. It drives Matt crazy 'cause he couldn't care less.

3. My name has a "y" in it and so I want all of our girls to have a name with a wierd "y" in it. (Holynd is spelled with a y).

4. Matt has a "books on tape" addiction. He's always listening to book to and from work.

5. Whenever Matt and I go anywhere, he has to "leave twice". He always forgets something and has to go back into the house. It only happens when we go somewhere together, but it drives me nuts!

6. Matt has to smell all the bottles of soap in the store before he'll buy one. I won't go with him when he buys soap anymore.

Surviving Prego 101...For Men.

Living with a woman that is growing a human parasite can be quite challenging so here are some useful tips that I recommend to help ease the pain.

1. Avoid snoring at all costs. If you have to suffocate yourself, it will be worth it. I have learned that if she isn't sleeping and it's your fault, you will definately not be sleeping. She will make sure you are just as or even more tired and uncomfortable than she is.

2. Don't breathe in the general direction of the blood hound that is in the bed with you. Even if you have brushed your teeth 8 times, used mouthwash and popped several breathmints she will still smell the beefaroni that you ate for lunch 2 days ago.

3. Be ready to duck-and-cover at any moment. You never know if something will be flying your way.

4. Never eat the last of the cheese-its or whatever the snack-of-the-moment is. If you do you won't live to eat the next snack.

5. Be ready to run to the grocery store at 3:00 in the morning for pickles or anything else. If you think this is just something that happens in the movies you are wrong. It happens all the time.

6. You will never know who is calling you when you see your wife's phone number. It could be a sweet loving wife who misses you, it could be a tired crying girl that is ready to give up, or it could be the little sister of Freddy Kruger, who is also possesed by some evil deamon, that is ready to kill any and everything that looks at her a little differently.

7. When you do something stupid you will have not just one person but two people extremely mad at you. (Your wife and unborn child) She seems to have a magical power to pass on her rage to the baby, who returns it ten-fold to your pregnant wife.

8. Don't watch the food channel. You can watch it if you don't mind having to drive several hours to find some obscure food item, that is nearly impossible to find, but is featured on the food channel. I almost found myself driving to Roy at 10:00 at night a couple weeks ago.

9. Be willing to call every restaurant in Utah to see if they have or can make some specialty item.

10. Be prepared for weird smells, sounds and other unusual goodies that are bound to happen sometime between now and the end of this pregnancy.

11. Just when you think pregnancy can't get more wierd/frightening/disgusting... it does.

12. If she wants water from the gas station. She wants water from the gas station. It doesn't matter if you have a bottle of water in the fridge, or if you have a very fancy/expensive filter on the tap. She wants what she wants.

13. Be prepared. That blushing, dainty, loving wife will never return.

14. Get ready to do your own laundry. (And hers, and never be afraid to ask how to sort it, getting a lecture about being stupid with laundry is a lot better then having to gain the courage to tell her that you ruined the only sweater that still fits her.) Cook for yourself. Wash the floors the way she likes and help her put on her shoes... (She won't be able to do this once that baby gets big enough.)

15. You may come home and have all the pictures on the wall switched around and 55 new holes to patch up, because she kept changing her mind while rearranging.

16. Complain and die. If you state that... your head hurts, you're a little tired or your stomach is a little upset... be prepared to get a whole mess of complaints thrown your way. Some of which you could've lived without hearing from your loving wife.

17. You will have to go to the dr with her. Get over the fear of the gynocologist now.

18. If you come home and she goes straight to the bedroom and slams the door before one word was spoken between you... Don't go in to see what's wrong. I REPEAT! DO NOT GO IN!

19. Don't let her go grocery shopping alone. She'll come home with nothing but junk food that she'll get sick of in two days and you'll be back at the grocery store getting other snacks.

20. And finally, if she EVER asks about her appearance... tell her that there's not a celebrity/model/singer that holds a candle to her. DO NOT HESITATE, DO NOT BOTHER TO LOOK AT HER, HAVE ALL ANSWERS REHEARSED AND READY AT ALL TIMES! You need to be faster then a gun slinger on this one.... AND WHATEVER YOU DO... avoid the word... "uh...?".

Hope this helps some people or just gave a few people a good laugh.

-Matt

Updates!

So school started this week... YAY! Bean and I ride Trax up to campus everyday, carry a huge bookbag (I'm taking 7 classes, so I have a lot of books to carry...) to all my classes and then ride all the way home. Needless to say, we encounter some very interesting people on our commute. Matt, who's still working a million hours per week... is taking most of his classes online. So he gets a break from sitting in classes for hours on end.

Bean also has an ultrasound scheduled for September 2nd! Matt and I are really excited to find out what we are having. Matt thinks were having a boy and I think were having a girl... So it will be interesting to see who's intuition is correct. :) I'm also excited to get rid of the people who keep asking me about it all the time! Everywhere you go, strangers ask when you are due, what you are having and then give their two cents worth of advice... SICK OF IT!

FYI FOR ADVICE GIVERS: Yes, I know it only gets worse. Yes, I know I shouldn't be drinking that Diet Coke (Which I can now drink again... Thank goodness!!!!!) Yes, I am aware that babies are expensive, messy, a HUGE responsibility and stink most of the time! No, I don't care to hear about your pregnancies, labor, deliveries or parenting horror stories. Sorry, but I don't think, knowing who my doctor is, if I'm having an epidural or not, if I'm planning on immunizing my baby and what kind of Prenatal Vitamin I'm taking, is really any of your business! Yes, I know that eating for two doesn't mean I can eat everything in sight. (And frankly, I'm just glad I can eat without getting sick now, so bite me!) AND NO YOU MAY ABSOLUTELY NOT TOUCH MY BELLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am round, tired, unhappy, miserable and usually really really hungry... So I wouldn't tread in those waters. If you would like to keep all your limbs, please, just hand me a Big Mac and Diet Coke and GET THE HECK OUT OF MY WAY! (I've been blessed with a great support group... AKA my own mother, sister-in-laws, friends and many many books... I do not require advice from someone I've never spoken to before.)

I'm also posting our Madame Zaritska prediction!! Just for fun! Enjoy!

Madame Zaritska, our resident clairvoyant, wants to help you prepare for the arrival of your child. Here she does her best to predict certain aspects of your labor and birth experience.

What she senses for you....

The day you deliver, outside will be windy. Your baby will arrive in the evening. After a labor lasting approximately 6 hours, your child, a boy, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 6 pounds, 3 ounces, and will be 19-1/2 inches long. This child will have hazel eyes and be almost bald.

First Nudges...

So at my last dr's appt, my doctor told me to pay close attention to my baby this month because I should be able to feel tiny movements soon! Sure enough, this weekend, little Bean has been making himself (herself) known! I'm feeling little nudges every few hours... (I have to be paying close attention.) It's been really exciting! Sometimes I even feel like I feel him (her) change positions and roll around. Matt hasn't been able to feel anything on the outside yet, but I'm sure it won't be too long before he can!

And just in case anyone was wondering! Here's a little snip-it about our baby's milestones this week! (Courtesy of Whattoexpect.com)

This week your baby is hitting the height chart at five and a half inches long (remember, that's crown to rump) and weighs about five ounces (the weight of that boneless chicken breast you're making for dinner). And now for the skill of the week (drum roll please…): The art of the yawn has been mastered by your baby (someone's sleepy!). In fact, you might catch a glimpse of that adorable yawn if you're getting an ultrasound this month. You'll also catch a glimpse of all the movement your baby's doing — twists, rolls, kicks, and punches. And would you believe your baby is finally big enough for you to start feeling those movements now (or anytime in the next few weeks). So get ready!
Something you won't see on the ultrasound, but you'll know is in working order, is your baby's nervous system, which is maturing rapidly at this time. Nerves, now covered with a substance called myelin (which speeds messages from nerve cell to nerve cell), are forming more complex connections. And those in the brain are further specializing into the ones that serve the senses of touch, taste, smell, sight, and hearing. Talking about hearing, your baby's is growing more acute, making your little one more conscious of sounds that come from inside your body (which means you could both be listening to each other hiccup — a skill that your baby has by now).

50 Things About Us....

This weekend was really quiet and so we decided to post 50 random things about us. We tried to think of things that people may not know!

1. We call our baby Bean because of the way the baby looks in the 7 week ultrasound pic.
2. We could probably spend $500 at FYE on cartoon collection DVD's.
3. I drink a gallon of milk every other day because it helps my heartburn. (I sent Matt out for more milk last night at midnight.)
4. The first movie we watched together was High School Musical with 10 girls that had Downs Syndrome. It was one of the funniest dates either of us had ever been on.
5. I make Matt help me put my outfits together when I go places.

7. Matt has a secret fetish for wrestling games. (He knows all the moves by name.)
8. I was in Jr High when Matt got home from his mission.
9. I bawled when we got married and Matt shed one tear. (We still argue about this all the time. Matt states he cried more then that, but the jury is still out.)
10. Matt attended a Baptist School for three months during 9th grade.
11. My parents think that I was the ugliest newborn in the world. (They told me I looked like The Joker from Batman.)

16. Matt always wants to buy TGIF Potato Skins when we go to the grocery store, but is too cheap to get them. (They're like four dollars for a box of four!)
17. We have an ongoing fued about which book series is wierder... Twilight or The Wheel of Time.
18. The dog likes me better then Matt 'cause I feed him whatever I'm eating.
19. I made Matt sleep on the couch by me with the hall light on for a week 'cause I had a nightmare about IT the Clown.

My Man Tag

My Man! Tag...

This is the man tag!!

What is his full name? Matthew Wade Peterson
How long have you been married? Since Oct 12, 2007
How long did you date? 6 weeks and then we got engaged.
Who eats more sweets? ME!!!!! Matt didn't even drink soda until we started dating...
Who said I love you first? Matt did and then took off to Lake Powell and didn't talk to me the entire time! I thought that he totally regretted it and hated me... The day before he came back he sent flowers to my work and made up for not calling...
How old is he? 26.
Who is taller? If you don't know this you shouldn't be reading our blog.
Who is smarter? Matt... definately.
Who can sing better? Neither of us.... We both are really bad singers.
Who does the laundry? I do most of it. But Matt usually folds. I can't carry the laundry baskets into the living room anymore. (I have to fold laundry while watching TV, HEHE!)
Who pays the bills? Matt makes all the money and pays all the bills. I just mooch.
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Me and Bean.... unless we kick Matt out... Then we sleep in the middle, all stretched out.
Who mows the lawn? The Landscapers that work for the HOA.
Who cooks dinner? Del Taco, Taco Time, Fazoli's, McDonalds..... It depends on what Bean wants for dinner. (I used to be really good at cooking! I really was! But things change when you started to grow a human.)
Who drives? Matt does so I can play with the radio.
Who is more stubborn? Probably Me....
Who kissed who first? Matt tried to kiss me on our second date when he dropped me off but I hurried and looked down so he just kissed my forehead.... I apologized and told him to try again... He did!
Who asked who out? Matt asked me out... a few times... It took him awhile to get me to go on an official date.
Who has more siblings? Matt has more actual siblings but if you ask anyone... McCoy and Isaac actually count for about 3 kids each... So me ;)
Who wears the pants? Matt wears the pants and I wear the maternity clothes! (Sometimes I wonder if our dog is actually the one in charge, 'cause he usually gets what he wants before we do. He'll probably relinquish control to the baby once Bean's born and then Bean will rule.)

In reference...

I would just like to say in reference to the below post.... It would be really cruel to try and get revenge against a woman who can't even sleep at night because she's carrying your unborn child!!! The right thing would to do would be to suck it up and get the book because it would keep the woman and the unborn child distracted from all the miserable symptoms they are going through! PS. We do love you very much... But DO NOT mess with us!

Vampires and Werewolves

Tomorrow is the release of the new Stephanie Meyer book I think it is called Breaking Dawn. Well, Tanshyle and Bean are very excited to read this new book as soon as it comes out. I can't see the appeal of these books. I think they sound really weird because they are about a young girl that falls in love with a 100 year old vampire, yet she is torn because there is a werewolf that is her own age and she is stuck to choose between the two. Needless to say, these books have girly written all over them. Well when we were engaged, the 3rd book was released and I thought I would surprise T by getting the book for her to read. Anyone that has tried to buy these books, as soon as, they came out would know that it is harder to get then a new Harry Potter book. So I went into Borders and every other bookstore for two weeks straight asking for this romance book. I am pretty sure I was known as the tall gay guy that comes in here and leaves very disappointed when he can never get his special book. I finally got it after two weeks of checking at these bookstores everyday. When I was checking out with the book, two older ladies there were pointing at me and saying, to another guy, see there is a guy that is buying the book. After trying to convince them that the book was for my wife, I just gave up and resigned myself to the title of tall gay guy that has to see if Bella ends up with Jacob or Edward. So I will figure out some way to get revenge, but for now it looks like just a couple more weeks of trips to the bookstore to get a chick book for my wife, and trying to convince people it really isn't for me. -MATT

Late Night Fry Run

So Matt and I just got back from a late night fry run... Bean wanted fries and so I went and pulled Matt out of bed... (I, of course, am up because I have to pee every five minutes!) and we headed down to the good 'ole Saratoga Springs McDonalds for a fry fix. I tried to withhold. I know that I shouldn't feed my bean fast food but BEAN WANTED FRIES! What am I supposed to do?!? Deprive my unborn child? No Way! I'm hoping one day Bean's cravings will turn into carrots and celery since I'm starting to feel very very fat!

Both: Wh-why? Why exactly, be more constuctive with your feedback!

The Pregnancy NO NO NO List Continues...

So here I am, midnight on Friday night, alone in my living room watching Friends with terrible terrible heartburn!!!!!!! It's awful! I've eaten at least 8 Tums and 4 glasses of milk today!!! For those of you who haven't experienced the joys of pregnancy yet... BE PREPARED to give up any food with flavor. Food with flavor will either smell, and therefore give you morning sickness or will taste good and give you heartburn. So here are the new additions to the Pregnancy NO NO NO List....

1. Pizza (No it does not make me nauseated, it does however, make me cough of stomach acid from heartburn for days...)
2. Shredded Lettace (This should have been included on the previous list. Since the day I found out, it's made me gag and choke.)
3. Pepper....... Yep, I'm cutting out pepper... it adds flavor to food and therefore, gives me heartburn!
4. Salt (See Above)
5. Tums (I've eaten so many that now it makes me nauseated just thinking about eating anymore!)
6. Flamin' Hot Cheetos (This morning I thought I could cheat and eat them for breakfast, in hopes that eating them early would curb the heartburn... NOPE!)
7. Spicey Chicken Bowl from Hogi Yogi......... I kinda want to cry because I have to add this one.
8. Anything you have to cook in the microwave... The food will just taste like the microwave.

That's all for now..... I'm sure the list will keep growing until the only food I'll have left to eat will be a glass of water.

Tag You're It!!!!!

Nicole tagged her entire friends list! So here it goes!
Here are the rules.... Post these rules on your blog:List 3 Joys, 3 Fears, 3 Goals, 3 Current Obsessions/Collections, and 3 Random surprises about yourself.

Joys:

1. Our Marriage!

2. Our Baby!!! We can't wait to meet you Bean! (Peach/Grapefruit... Bean's not the size of a bean anymore! Believe me...)

3. Our little puppy Heckles! He's our preparation for our baby! He thinks he's human and he's got more personality then most people. We like to teach him tricks, even though he doesn't understand the words and just does the tricks he already knows until he does the right one. He'll only do them if you have a treat too.

Fears:

1. Labor. Yes, both of us our scared for this. I'm scared about giving birth to a 13 lb baby, and Matt's scared of loosing a limb in the middle of it. (I'm not giving birth naturally and NO I don't care about the benefits of giving birth naturally.)

2. Complications. Even though we try not to talk about it, we both are scared that our baby will have complications. But we will love our Bean no matter what!

3. Bugs in our bed.... This is a new one. I was asleep one night in our bed. (After kicking Matt out for snoring) and something crawled on me!!! Matt came in after I screamed and freaked out... He assured the bug was long gone and to go back to sleep. Well about an hour after he went back to work, something started crawling on me again!!!!! I was sure our bedroom was infested with bugs and made Matt come home from work immediately! He came home and killed the bug and washed all our bedding. I didn't go in our room for the entire day.

Goals:

1. To finish school. This seems so far off, but we both agree that our educations are very important and we'll do anything to get through school.

2. To have a baby. We're already four months pregnant. So we're doing well achieving this goal!

3. To survive the pregnancy.... At this point, this is really more Matt's goal then mine. HEHE! I'm sure once I get bigger I'll be wondering how I will survive too.

Obsessions

1. I think one is fairly obvious. Our baby!

2. Cheese-Its. This is my new pregnancy comfort foods. Matt ate my last four Cheese-Its the other day and was almost put out on the street for the night. Never touch a pregnant ladies comfort food!

3. Weight Gain. Ok, so Matt really isn't concerned with his weight gain, but I AM! I worry everyday that I'm gaining too much or too little.

Surprises

1. Uh... for everyone wondering... Yes, the baby was a surprise. I very very pleasant one. (I think a baby counts for all three surprises)

OK! That's it!

I had to scale the deck today....

So Matt and I live on the second floor in our condo building.... I woke up this morning being the good little housewife that I am, I started laundry, cleaned up the kitchen and got the dog ready to go out... When the dog and I were on our walk, the dog was really cute chasing butterflies and being happy. We got back to our door and the DOOR WAS LOCKED!!!!! I had no phone, no shoes and a dog... I started to think.... Matt had been locked out before and had climbed up to the deck to get in. I figured, how hard could that be. (Matt's 6'4" and I'm 5'1") I'm a tough chick! If he could do it, I could definately do it! So I tied the dog to the front door and went around to climb up to the deck. I grabbed on to the bars on the railing and started to climb up. About two seconds into the climb, I realized I didn't have any stomach muscles anymore! My pregnant belly was just big enough that I couldn't use any stomach strength to climb up. I started to look down.... Could I jump down and not fall???? I can't fall..... That'll hurt the baby.... I'm high enough I could break an ankle if I land on my feet... What do I do?!?!? So I just kept climbing! Four bruises and a close-to-broken toe later... I was on the deck. I was so tired and winded that I almost forgot about the poor puppy still tied to the door! The baby, the puppy and I are all still alive but after this I don't think I'll ever forget my keys again!!!

The Pregnancy No No No List

So I've decided to start a pregnancy No No No list! These are all the foods that I can no longer eat because they make me sick.........

1. Ground Beef
2. Talapia
3. Shrimp
4. Tuna Fish
5. Diet Soda
6. Gummy Bears
7. Chocolate

HI!

So my one of my bestest friends (Nicole) talked me into starting a blog for Matt and I. So about us.... Well, we got married on October 12, 2007 and our first baby is due January 17th, 2009!!!! We're so so so so so excited! Matt's Pre-Med at the University of Utah and I'm majoring in Economics. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all my classes will be available when I need them to be, so I can graduate next summer and start my Master's Degree. Matt's currently submerged in MCAT Prep and working full time. I'm just at home going to school full time and preparing to be a mommy!!!!! We couldn't be happier right now..... Except maybe if we won the lottery or something (Or, maybe if Arrested Development was put back on TV... yeah that would be a good day for Matt and I)
