So, Matt and I celebrated our anniversary this weekend! Yep! We've been married for a whole year.... And I've been pregnant for half of it! It was a blast! We spent Saturday night in Park City and got to do some serious shopping for Bean! When we got to our hotel room, we had Sparking Cider and Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries waiting for us! Bean loved the Sparking Cider and I was pretty much drinking it right out of the bottle by the end of the night. (Which gave me heartburn so bad, Matt had to go to Albertson's and get me some milk.... I am now totally capable of drinking a half-gallon of milk is under 6 hours.... Jealous?)
So, we know that not a lot of couples celebrate their 1st anniversaries by shopping for baby clothes... But we had fun. We found ton of stuff at Old Navy and Carter's. Matt joked that our baby had enough clothes to wear something different everyday for her entire first year. (Which isn't true... And I'm thinking it doesn't sound like such a bad idea) We also learned that buying baby gear is harder than it seems. After going to seven different stores looking for an infant car seat, we have no car seat. I've decided that shopping at home from my couch with Matt's debit card is my shopping method of choice from now on. (Note to new parents: Most of the baby gear in the stores is only a fourth of the baby gear stores carry.... Most baby gear sale items are only available online. I'm ordering our car seat from target.com for HALF of what we would've paid shopping at Target in person. Plus, shopping in your living room, while watching Friends and wearing jammies... pretty much rocks!)
Matt started painting the baby's room! YAY! With Matt's schedule, the baby's room is pretty slow going, but it's going to be cute once it's finished! We're planning on keeping her in a bassinet in our room for the first few months, so we're ok with taking our time with her room.
Fall break is this week!!!! We're so excited to get a break! We're also close to half way done with this semester and despite a few incidents... (Labor and Delivery visit, fainting on trax, etc.) it's been a fun semester. (And yes, I really did faint on trax one morning.... See below)
So pregnancy is fun, but I am thrilled to say that there's 96 days left until my due date! We've reached double digits... Finally! Morning sickness has started to show up again.... I get really really light-headed in the morning and have found that's it's just easier to eat after class, than trying to eat breakfast and loosing it before class. The first time my morning sickness showed up I was headed to an early class. I got on trax just like any other morning but had a little bit of a stomach ache. As the train headed toward Salt Lake, I started to feel really sick. I knew I COULD NOT throw up on trax so I figured I would just get off on the next stop and rest for a bit and catch the next train. As the train stopped, I went to stand up.... and immediately came back down.... I blacked completely out and was lucky enough to be caught by a Senior Missionary before I hit the train floor. It was more embarassing than anything! I called Matt afterward and he came and got me from the trax station and talked me into going home for the day. I spent the rest of the day hiding my face, worried that someone would reconize me from that morning.
Congrats on one whole year together! So glad you and Bean are ok after the Trax event. Matt...way to go on starting the paint job on the nursery!
ReplyDeleteWow! I can't believe you blacked out. Thank goodness for missionaries ...not just good for spreading the gospel :). Congratulations on 1 whole year! YAY!
