Wally's Artwork

Holynd loves to color. She likes to have her artwork displayed on the fridge for all to see. The other day she decided to just color on the fridge. I tried to get mad at her, but was unsuccessful. I don't even want to clean it off the fridge. It makes me smile every time I go into the kitchen.

This is Sloane. She likes to sleep, eat and poop. She's starting to stay awake more and more everyday. Hopefully she'll give us a smile soon!

This was Holynd's response to "Smile for a picture!". Check out those thighs!

You may have read about Holynd's ever-increasing vocabulary on a previous post. Her new word is "Wally". It's her word for "Holynd". Sometimes she refers to herself correctly using "I" or "Me", but mostly she refers to herself in third-person using "Wally". For instance, when she's doing something wrong she says, "No, no Wally" or when she's playing with her doll she calls herself, "Mommy-Wally". We've kinda just started calling her Wally. :)

My favorite Wally phrases:

"Baby Some Kind" - translation: "Baby Sloane is crying".

"Ice Hunky" - translation: "I'm hungry".

"Kay Que" - translation: "Thank you".

Finally...

We're going out tonight. Just Matt and I. No kids. No puke. No poop. Tonight, I will be enjoying Mexican food with my husband. Chances are, we'll sit and talk about our babies, their puke and their poop.

Maybe we'll chat about how Holynd starts her prayers by saying, "Haley Favor" and ends them by saying, "Amie". She also likes to say "Amie" way before prayer is over and walk off.

We'll probably continue to guess what color Sloane's eyes will be and talk about how her hair has a hint of red in it.

Even though it's long overdue and we're not leaving for 4 hours... I already have anxiety about leaving my babies, and their puke and poop.

I love them and everything that comes with them.

So, how much crazier is this going to get?

I hope you all know how lucky you are. This rare moment of peace and quiet has been dedicated to filling you all in on how we are doing... :) It was a toss-up between blogging or yoga. Since I'm still sore from yoga yesterday and Lori & Brianna made me run on part of our walk, I picked blogging. :)

The doctor told us not to go anywhere because of a summer flu that has been going around. We've done the opposite. How can we stay indoors when there's a playground right outside our door!? Holynd is also loving Grandma Kathy's pool and Grandpa Keith's awesome (albeit, huge) swingset. We've worn out several pairs of shoes this summer playing.

How is life with two babies? Crazy. I can tell you without a doubt that there is always someone or something covered in poop. No joke. Usually someone or something is getting covered in poop while dinner is on the stove and the other child is crying. And you know how everyone always says that you want them to sleep at the same time?! Yeah, mine do... But did you know that it means they're both AWAKE AT THE SAME TIME!? There is either total peace in the house or total CHAOS!! Having Holynd spit cheese crackers all over the living room while I'm confined to the couch feeding Sloane is a typical scene at my house. Getting dinner on the table at a normal hour is a rarity nowadays... Dinnertime, in general, is very different then Pre-Sloane days. I'm usually trying to feed Sloane or trying to help her fall asleep and Matt is trying to keep Holynd from throwing all her food on the floor. Sometimes I catch myself humming the song, "Danger Zone" because my house is so crazy. ("I went to the Danger Zone..." You're humming it right now aren't you?)

This is a picture of Holynd in the tub... In the dark. I was so distracted trying to get Sloane changed (yes, poop!) that I turned off the light when I walked out of the bathroom. Holynd just calmly kept saying, "Mommy. Help me.".

This is where Sloane grunted and fussed herself to sleep while I cleaned up the bathroom after Holynd (yes, this happens) pooped in her tub.

Hopefully some of this craziness will help my pre-baby body return. You'd think it would since I usually don't get to eat breakfast until 2pm. :)
I'd also like to brag about the fact that my husband is quite wonderful. I like to think that he's the most amazing husband in the world. Every night, we lay in bed and I tell him about my day. No matter how crazy the day was, he can always make me laugh about it. Plus, he never fails at making sure I have a huge Diet Pepsi to help drown my sorrows. He also ate the disgusting soup I made last night (Even though it got great reviews on food.com! Have you been to food.com? It's my favorite website for recipes. Except, don't try the Chicken Tortilla Soup recipe. It was gross).
(Pause for a moment while I check on children).
Well, we're off for more craziness. Holynd puked all over her crib and Sloane is mad because she has the hiccups.

"Mine Baby!"

It's getting harder to update now that Sloane is here, but here's a brief update of our 4th of July and other random things.
*
Grandma Kathy surprised Holynd with her very own baby a couple of weeks ago. Holynd goes back and forth between loving the doll and hating it. It can actually move and make cooing sounds, but it freaks Holynd out! She backs away and hides until the baby stops making noise. We have to keep the doll turned off. Holynd likes to put the "real" baby things on the baby. So, Sloane has had to lend out a few receiving blankets, bibs and hats to the doll. She calls it, "Mine Baby!".

*
Holynd is finally warming up to her little sister. They're definitely sisters. They get upset when the other one is crying. Holynd runs to Sloane and yells for me when Sloane starts to fuss. I can't wait to see them together as they get older. (This picture makes me laugh because Sloane is so much darker then Holynd. I forget how fair Holynd is.)
*
We took the girls to the Lehi City fireworks. We weren't sure how it was going to turn out, but it was a lot of fun. We sat in the back of Matt's truck with lots of treats and watched the fireworks. Holynd LOVED it. She had a little bit of a sugar high and jumped all over during the fireworks. We couldn't get her to hold still. People who were nearby kept laughing at her.

(We've lost all hope for getting rid of the binkie. If Sloane has her binkie, Holynd HAS to have hers. I have no idea what to do.)
Sloane sat in the backseat and slept through the whole thing.

P.S. My baby only wakes up twice a night to eat. Jealous?
