Our crazy day....

So Matt and I made our first trip to Labor and Delivery yesterday. It was really scary for a little while, but I'm home and resting (and still pregnant, thank goodness!).

I had been feeling sick and exhausted for a couple of days. Yesterday, when I woke up, I could barely move, I was so uncomfortable. I could barely pull myself into our truck to go to school. About half way through my first class, I started getting waves of nausea and even more pain, so I decided I need to call and let my dr know.

I called Matt and told him I needed to call the dr. Matt said he'd take a quick lunch and drive up to campus to make sure everything was ok. Well, when I called the dr, they told me I would need to come in right away. I told them I could make it down in about an hour or so. Knowing that I may get sent to Labor and Delivery if they wanted to monitor me I got something to eat. (Labor and Delivery will not let you eat while they're monitoring you, just in case you start to go into labor... So if anyone makes a similar trip, try and grab something to eat so you don't starve!)

When we got to the dr I was so scared and in so much pain that I could barely wait for the dr. I was in tears and really upset. My dr sent me right over to the hospital. When I got to the hospital, they immediately got me in to a Labor and Delivery room... Which was a little scary. I was expecting to be in more of an examination room, rather than the real thing. They got me into bed and strapped a whole bunch of monitors on me and I immediately became a human science experiment. They took blood and ran a whole bunch of different tests..... It was awful. On the upside, it was amazing to sit there and just listen to our baby's heartbeat on a monitor the whole time. It made me want to take that machine home with me.

They finally came in (after almost four hours!) and said that I wasn't going into active labor, but I needed to stay down and pay close attention to my baby for a couple of days. I was fine with that! We left, went home and laid around our living room for the rest of the night. I'm definately excited to have my baby, but I hope she stays put for a few more months!
