Fat, Fat, FAT!

I love my mom. She has this way of secretly giving advice without actually giving it.

When I found out I was pregnant this time around, I committed myself to being healthier and not gaining as much weight.

I remember talking about this all through my first trimester and my mom would, in her loving way, nod along and listen to my rants about how awful I felt during Holynd's pregnancy.

Now that this pregnancy is well under way I realize what my mom was "secretly" telling me through all her "nodding along".

I'm up to 10 pounds with 14 weeks to go... I was WAY WAY WAY over that during Holynd's pregnancy, but I was still considered healthy. I felt awful with Holynd's pregnancy and guess what... I feel AWFUL with THIS PREGNANCY TOO!

The fat that distributed itself all over my body with Holynd's pregnancy RETURNED, despite my attempts to look like Pregnant Madonna.

So, I'm blogging to tell the Pregnancy Fairies, I GET THE POINT! I WILL NEVER LOOK GOOD PREGNANT! I'M DOOMED TO HAVE CELLULITE DOWN TO MY KNEES UNTIL DELIVERY! MY BODY WILL HURT BY EVERY AFTERNOON AND MY HUSBAND WILL ALWAYS HAVE TO HELP ME OFF OF THE COUCH DURING PREGNANCY!

*This is my official declaration*

I know so many people who wear pregnancy so well.

I DON'T!

I'M AN ANGRY PREGNANT PERSON! I AM ONE TINY PERSON! I HAVE NO WHERE TO PUT A BABY!

I could eat nothing but tofu & carrot sticks and still have flabby-arms, big bum, no energy and cellulite.

I'm sick of worrying about how other people feel about how I'm caring for my pregnancy!

To those who judge:

I drink Diet Pepsi when I'm pregnant.

I think that eating the way you want to, when pregnant, is a PREGNANT WOMAN'S RIGHT!

A dinner of french fries and oranges is perfectly fine for me!

I think that I can eat my servings of fruit, veggies, fiber etc. and still eat CHIPS AND SALSA!

I don't want to hear about the distance you run while pregnant or the aerobics classes you go to because, frankly, I THINK YOU'RE LYING!

The couch is my favorite place right now!

I'm perfectly aware that after Baby #2's delivery, I will have to KICK MY BUTT EVERYDAY to get rid of the weight! BUT I'D HAVE TO DO THAT ANYWAY!

THIS IS WHY THE LORD INVENTED PRENATAL VITAMINS AND BREASTFEEDING!

Dear Mom,

The next time I'm being delusional and INSANE, tell me.

"Fridge Lists"

Today marks 100 days until my due date. Some days I'm still in denial that another birth is looming over me, other days I can't imagine being pregnant ANY LONGER, and then there are those days when I can't believe there's ONLY 15 weeks left!
*
Nesting with Holynd's pregnancy was non-existent. I did nothing. I packed my bag AFTER the doctor called and told me I was being induced in two hours. Holynd was lucky she had a carseat to ride home in. I didn't even finish the nursery before she came home... I will admit, the nursery remain unfinished until she was about six months old and I'm still slowly adding to it.
*
This pregnancy is different. With my Bachelor's degree out of the way, I feel like I'm finally entitled to "nest". That being said, I started creating lists. Lists of things that need to be done before the baby gets here. Now, where is the best place to put a list you want your husband to see??? Well, if I could get ESPN to do a small story on what Matt needs to do before the baby comes on Sportscenter I'd be golden, but I have to settle for the fridge!
*

*
Then of course, Holynd is fulfilling her list by being the cutest big sister in the entire world. :)

100 days and counting! We're getting excited to meet you sissy-monster!

Straws, Scribbles and Tomato Soup!

My favorite favorite FAVORITE thing ever is Barbacoa burritos! Every time I go to the doctor, I make Matt stop there and get us burritos with EXTRA, EXTRA, LOTS AND LOTS of hot sauce! Soooooooooo yummy!
*
Holynd has discovered that Barbacoa kids' meals come with a juice box. She struggled with the straw at first, but got the hang of it. She looks so grown up with her little juice box. :)
*
*
Sundays around our house are often unpredictable. I think it's because Sunday is the only day we get dad to ourselves for an entire day!
*
Since having two pregnancies back-to-back Matt has learned A LOT about pregnant women. Mainly, if I have a craving you better fulfill it or I'll eat everything else in the house. The Sabbath always proves to be the hardest day for pregnancy cravings because Matt & I prefer not to break the Sabbath. However, you never know what a pregnant woman might want to eat on Sunday!
*
This Sunday I wanted tomato soup... After working on our food storage all winter long... Matt and I did not have ONE can of tomato soup in our pantry. (Seriously, we were shocked because our pantry is STOCKED!) Instead of giving-in and breaking the Sabbath, Matt got out all my cookbooks and found a recipe for tomato soup that we could make from our food storage. It was AWESOME! We are officially too "stuck-up" for regular tomato soup... We were really able to make the entire thing from our food storage, except for the fresh basil!
*
(Don't mind the green spoon in the blue bowl, on the blue plate... Matt was really trying to "tune-into" his "inner-chef", it was really sweet).
*
In other news, Holynd is becoming very artistic... I'm just not sure I'm happy with where she chooses to display her art. This "Scripture-Marking-Pencil" art was scribbled all over my hallway, while Matt and I were trying to get ready for church.
*

*

*
Tanshyle: Holynd! That was not a nice thing to do... Oh my gosh Matt! It's all the way down the hallway!
Matt: I'll be ok. I'm sure it'll come off.
Tanshyle: Arg! She's such a sneaky little stink!
Matt: It'll come off.
*
-Five Seconds Later-
*
Matt: Here, try a baby wipe.
Tanshyle: No wait!
Matt: What are you doing?
Tanshyle: Taking pictures of it.
Matt: I thought you were mad.
Tanshyle: But it's so cute!
Matt: (Eye roll).

Too Cute!

Holynd is the biggest daddy's girl. She cries when he leaves and won't take naps when he's home. She gets really excited when she gets to go on errands with him, without mom. (If the truth be known, dad always buys her treats on errand-runs).
But! Every so often, Holynd shows interest in something I do. Lately, it's been cooking. Holynd "cooks" and then I hear her pretending to "eat" what she has "cooked". It's really cute and it makes it so hard to get mad when she gets all the pots and pans out.

I can't believe how much I love this little girl. She makes life so much fun!

HURRY UP SPRING!

Just some random pictures!
Holynd is really getting into pictures. She likes to have me take her picture and then show her the picture on my camera.

Holynd loves nectarines! Crackers and nectarines is her favorite snack.

Holynd got these bug "ears" at her cousin's birthday party. She loves them! After she puts them on, she makes me take her into the bathroom mirror so she can admire herself. (Thanks Beckham!) In this picture, she's watching Go Diego Go in her pajamas with her bug "ears" on.

After she realized I was taking pictures of her, she wanted to "pose". What a goofy smile!
Happy March everyone! We're ready for spring!
