Bad Case of the Mondays

So sleepy....

Today is Monday.

Which means I spent the day cleaning and what-not because it's Cleaning & Laundry Day. I have a love-hate relationship with this. I had to start doing this when Holynd was a baby and I went to school, otherwise we would've been wearing dirty clothes and living in filth. This also applies to Grocery Day, which is Friday. We would have only eaten cold cereal had it not been for my student/parent/pump-while-on-campus experience. ;)

Monday also means Family Night. Sadly, I also have a love-hate relationship with this. Sometimes it goes well, sometimes it does not. We get our FHE lessons from Confessions of a Slacker Mom. My mom found this website via Pinterest and I'm in love with it. Tonight's lesson was on the Tree of Life, it even included a movie. Which means my kids stared at the computer screen waiting for any familar cartoon character to come on the screen. Oh well, at least it was quiet for part of the lesson. We'll skip over the part where the girls danced their booty dance while we sang the opening song, The Iron Rod.

Some FHE highlights:

Us: The Tree of Life had special fruit on it. Holynd, do you have a favorite fruit?

Holynd: I like apples.

Us: Ok, the Tree of Life had very yummy apples on it.

Holynd: I like bananas and oranges too!

Us: Ok, but the Tree of Life just had yummy apples on it.

Holynd: I like grapes too!

Us: Ok, well Lehi had a dream about the Tree of Life and the yummy apples...

Holynd: Sloanie says she likes grapes and apples and oranges too!

Us: Do you know what the Iron Rod is?

*Holynd raises hand*

Holynd: It's a rod and it's made out of iron.

****

Us: The Iron Rod is like the word of God. Like the scriptures and going to church.

Holynd: No it's not! It's just made out of iron!

I'm starting to wonder what she says to her Primary teachers every Sunday....
