Carved...

We had a little party Saturday night. It seemed fitting since we are definitely having a baby soon! Holynd is still so excited for Halloween she can hardly sit still. While she was napping Saturday, I sent Matt out to get a couple of pumpkins and all the fixings for Banana Splits. I stayed home and made sure our Kalua Pork cooked to perfection. :) So yummy and SO EASY! A hugely-pregnant mommies best friend.

The pink tablecloth doesn't exactly scream "Halloween", but it was in the pantry and lessened my anxiety about pumpkin guts.

Holynd begged for a pumpkin with a face. ??????? We didn't get what that actually meant, so we talked her into a cat and a witch.

Oh Sloane. My baby. She polished this bowl of ice cream CLEAN! And then she ate two mini candy bars. I give in to most of her requests lately. :) Pretty soon the fatigue will be non-existent and I will be much less fun as a mommy, but until then.... My kids get ice cream and candy bars.

Holynd kept telling us that we had to put "fireworks" in the pumpkins. We didn't have any fireworks (???) so we went with candles. Again, she seemed ok with it. ;)

We put the pumpkins outside and put the kids to bed.

Perfect party. Perfect weekend. (I might have eaten two Banana Splits..... Might.)

Holynd woke up the next morning upset. She was begging Matt to bring in the pumpkins. "Daddy! My pumpkins will freeze to death!!!!!!!! Please bring them inside!!!!!! Oh daddy! Bring them inside!!!!!!!" We had to explain that pumpkins like the cold. Holynd got over it, but she's still peeking out the windows every few hours to make sure her pumpkins are ok.

She also wants to carry them around the neighborhood saying "Ooooooooooooooo Scary!" to all the neighbors. Sloane just walks around saying "Boo!" to everyone. So sweet.

I can't wait to dress up these girlies tomorrow. I'm getting very uncomfortable, so I'm trying to will myself to stay (yes, stay) pregnant until Trick or Treating is over.

I'm going to be sad when Halloween is over. Holynd and Sloane have loved seeing all the scary decorations out. One day, when we were out shopping, I pointed out Christmas decorations to Holynd.... She just kinda wrinkled her nose and shrugged her shoulders.... Matt does the exact same thing. Weird.

Can't Go On Forever...

Well, today was officially my last doctors appointment. I've gotten very uncomfortable lately and have thus decided to admit defeat.

This little guy probably isn't coming on his own. Not engaged, in fact he still likes to flip sunny-side-up at least once a day, not making much progress and after talking to my doctor.... we decided that this probably isn't happening on it's own. It seems like the exact OPPOSITE of how Sloane's pregnancy went. (Men! ARG!)

I'm a little bummed. A lot of people know how I feel about the "I" word, but I'm ready to bring a baby home. So ready.

Here's to hoping he comes on his own, but if not, it's nice to know that this can't go on forever.

Right, then left.

Last night Holynd helped me make a cake. (Chewy Dot Cake!) I asked her to mix the ingredients together while we waited for the oven to preheat. This is what she told me:

Holynd: I will mix it and mix it. Now I will mix it with my left hand.

*Switches whisk to left hand*

Matt and I both stop and stare at each other.

Mommy: Holynd, *pointing to her right hand* is this your right hand or your left?

Holynd: That's my right hand. *Shows me her right hand*. This is my left hand *Shows me the hand she's stirring with.*

Mommy (to husband): Did you teach her that?

Husband: I didn't teach her that.

Mommy: I didn't either.

Moment of silence.

Mommy: Well, it's probably for the best. I still struggle with that.

******

This morning I asked her about it again.

Mommy: Holynd, do you remember which hand is your left?

Holynd: I don't have any hands. I have a sister. I need your help finding my Scary Candy. (Pez Dispenser).

Holynd + Scary = Happy Girl

Yes my friends. Even in my big huge pregnant state, I'm still planning family outings. I'm loving fall outing so much better then summer outings. No swelling and better treats.

Holynd loves scary things. This has caused a HUGE love for Halloween in our house. We HAD to go to the "witches town" this year, baby or no baby. We were bummed that we didn't get to go on the hayride this year (it wasn't running this past weekend), but we did see a few REAL witches and some fake ones.

The first thing Holynd requested was having her face painted. I did NOT think she'd actually let someone in costume paint her face, but she sat really still and LOVED IT! She wanted to keep the face paint on until church, but after rubbing her face all over Matt and I's bedspread, we had to wash the witch off.

Sloane just wanted treats. When we were waiting in the face painting line, she kept looking around like, "What the heck! You guys promised me treats and I'm sitting here with NO TREAT! GET ME A TREAT!"

I got Holynd a witches' hat to wear and Sloane got a bat headband. Sloane's headband lasted longer then Holynd's hat, which was surprising.

We had so much fun!

10:14am

8:45 - Husband goes to work. House is somewhat quiet while the girls eat cereal.

8:47 - Drag my pregnant-self into the kitchen to see Sloane covered head-to-toe in cereal and milk. Lovely.

8:50 - Proceed to undress Sloane while Holynd refuses to eat cereal and asks to watch Peppa Pig.

8:55 - Turn on Peppa Pig

8:57 - Return to find Sloane on the kitchen table with Holynd's full bowl of cereal overturned and spilled all over the floor.

9:00 - Clean off Sloane. Clean up cereal mess.

9:02 - Pour myself a bowl of cereal because I can't just have a Diet Pepsi for breakfast. ;)

9:03 - Sloane gets hand caught in the door. Rush to her aid.

9:04 - Holynd gets an apple out of the fridge. Can't complain when she'd rather have an apple over sugary cereal.

9:05 - Sloane is jealous of Holynd's apple. Give Sloane her own apple.

9:06 - Realize that my bowl of cereal has been sitting on the counter and has turned to mush. :(

9:07 - Get new bowl of cereal.

9:09 - Two bites into bowl of cereal and I hear Holynd go in to go potty. "Going Poop!" she yells.

9:11 - Realize I haven't heard toilet flush.

9:12 - Sloane runs in covered in poop, still holding apple.

9:13 - Rush into bathroom to find Holynd sitting on a toilet, covered in poop, crying.

9:15 - Run shower, put both girls in crying.

9:16 - Clean off all laundry, start a load of laundry in washer.

9:18 - Clean toilet and floor.

9:20 - Stop. Have Contraction.

9:25 - Get girls out of shower, now crying because they have to get out of the shower.

9:26 - Sloane is upset because her apple has been thrown away.

9:27 - Give Sloane another apple. Take girls downstairs. Dress them. Brush hair and turn on Nick Jr.

9:35 - Realize cereal is beyond mush now. Pour out, grab granola bar.

9:37 - Sloane is crying hysterically. Run downstairs. Holynd has taken her apple and thrown it in the washing machine that is running.

9:40 - Put Holynd is timeout. Fish out apple. Throw away apple. Sloane throws a huge tantrum because her apple has been thrown away. Decide that Sloane just needs a nap.

9:42 - Put Sloane down for a nap.

9:43 - Someone knocks. Salesman. Get rid of salesman. Turn on monitor just in time to see Sloane fall out of her crib.

9:47 - Calm Sloane. Get her more milk. Put her back down for a nap.

9:52 - Climb stairs. Stop. Have Contraction.

9:55 - Start to make beds. Set phone on nightstand.

9:57 - Finish making beds.

10:00 - Realize that the nightstand is covered in water. Where in the h*ll did the water come from!?

10:01 - Take phone apart. Finally eat the rest of my granola bar.

10:05 - Holynd falls down the stairs.

10:10 - Give Holynd a fruit snack. Put together phone. Phone turns on. YES!

10: 11 - Stop. Have Contraction.

10:14 - Sigh and start thinking about just going back to bed.

Where in the world is baby brother going to fit in?!
