Holynd's "art". I kept trying to clean it up, a few post-its at a time, and she would NOTICE if even one of them disappeared. "Hey! Where'd this note go?!" She'd say.

September is one of my favorite months. Here's what we've been up to.
Maddox:
Maddox is crawling everywhere. He still prefers the army-crawl. He's extremely fast when it comes to the army-crawl. He can crawl normal-like, but he usually only does this when he's mad, or if he's shirtless on the carpet. His favorite thing to say lately is, "ler ler ler ler ler ler". I'm not sure what it means, but he says it constantly. I'm trying my hardest to get used to a little boy. Boys and girls are very VERY different, even at this age. I spend most of the day chasing Maddox away from the stairs, pulling him out of cabinets and cleaning up after the messes he makes.
Sloane:
When Sloane was 18 months old, I took her in for her 18 month appointment. The doctor was a little concerned that she wasn't speaking that much. She said a few words, but she wasn't really putting sentences together. It was a little scary for me. After the appointment, I paid close attention to Sloane and how/when she spoke. I quickly figured out that Holynd was doing most of her talking for her. Anytime Sloane wanted or needed anything Holynd was the one who made sure she got it. It didn't take me long to get Holynd to stop. The months after that got a little frustrating as Sloane learned that she would have to ask for things herself. A few hundred tantrums later, Sloane is speaking really well. Some of the things she says make me laugh. Sloane has a really quirky sense of humor. When I took the girls to the dentist, Sloane kept screaming, "Ine too shy! Ine too shy!" (I'm too shy). It wasn't funny right at that moment, but it was WAY funny later.
Holynd:
Holynd is in love with Pre-School. I am completely amazed at what she has already picked up. She loves to ask me what day of the week it is and what time it is.
"Mommy, what time is it?"
"11:30"
"But what time is it now?"
"11:30"
"But what time is it right now?!"
"11:30!"
"Mommy! What time does the clock say right now?!?"
"11:30! Holynd is it 11:30 right now."
"Oh ok Mommy. Thanks."
She's doing really well recognizing letters in books and she's been telling me where the words end and other words begin. She LOVES to ask what certain words start with.
"Mommy, what does poopie start with?"
"P"
"No Mommy. Poopies start with farts"
Awesome.
Me:
I am loving the changing season right now. I think I love September because it feels like everything starts to get organized again. Summer feels so chaotic sometimes. I love having the girls on more of a schedule and, after running around all summer long, I'm ready to stay at home. I'm totally addicted to Pinterest. I've been dressing-up our playroom with different projects I've found. I can't even begin to describe the craziness that breaks-out while I'm trying to get a project done. There are quite a few times where I'm sure the walls are going to cave in before I finish what I'm trying to accomplish. Sometimes I get a little self-conscious when I read about other moms accomplishing project after project in a clean house with happy, well-behaved kids. This DEFINITELY is not that house.
Matt:
Matt is pretty much amazing. He's always ready to help as soon as he gets home from work. He makes it really easy to love him. I love that I can just vent to him and he never fails to make me feel better. There are a lot of days when I really feel like I've failed; Dinner was awful, the house is a disaster, everyone cried/screamed all through bedtime routine... the list goes on. Matt can always make me laugh after a day like that.
As for the rest of September, I have a few more projects planned. Maybe. If the kids allow. I'm really excited about the kids' Halloween costumes this year. I'm an awful mother and basically told Holynd that princess costumes were OUT of the question. She wears one everyday. That's plenty of princess time. I'm loving that Sloane and Holynd can dress-up alike because they're still close enough in sizes. And, I'm also in love with little boy costumes! LITTLE BOY COSTUMES!
Hooray for Fall!

Ha ha ha ha ha poopie starts with farts... I'm dying. =D
