The Baloaniest

My house is quiet. Sloane is asleep and Holynd is at dance class with a friend. It's not very often that my house is this quiet. In fact, in a couple-ish (fingers crossed) weeks, my house will be one of the noisiest houses in the neighborhood.

I call Sloane, my "Baloaniest". Sloane radiates so much sweetness it makes your teeth hurt. The first person she asks for when she wakes up is her "Sissy", shortly thereafter it's "Daaa-deeee". She gives kisses with a very loud, "Muah!" sound and if you ask her what sound a piggy makes, she'll snort or maybe even bark. Piggy and puppy sound a lot alike after all.

Sloane has been blessed with her daddy's curls, although, if she was purple with a green nose, I'd still love her just as much. She loves junk food, strawberries, orange juice, tub-tubs and her mi-mi (Blanket).

I'm getting a little sad. Baloanie has been my baby. My tiny baby. She's the one who always wants to cuddle, suck her thumb and cry to me when the toy just won't work the way she wants it to! She also gets extremely mad when she thinks Holynd is going somewhere without her. Thank heaven she's asleep right now or I'd have quite the predicament on my hands.

Although I know from experience that I will no doubt be giving the capacity to love all three of my babies more then anyone ever deemed possible, I still struggle with the idea that Sloane will soon be a big sister. Holynd is someone who sweats determination, stubbornness, leadership (aka bossiness) and independence. She was a big sister from the very beginning.

But Sloane, she is just sweet and I have a feeling that the transition that our little family will go through soon will be an adjustment for her (or maybe just me).

She's just so dang special.

And quite the growth artist.
