Oreos

When Sloanie goes to G-Ma's, she gets to eat Oreos.

Long story short, Sloane LOVES G-Ma's.

Stupid Past-Tanshyle!

Right now, my little stinkers are asleep. (Thank goodness!) I was really excited when they went down because I thought, "I'm going to lay down too!" (Gasp! What?! I like to take nap once in awhile too!?!?) But then I remembered, ugh dinner...

When stupid past-Tanshyle made the grocery list she failed to add 'Amish Egg Noodles' to the list, even though, she had CLEARLY added Chicken Noodle Soup to the week's menu.... Why did she do this?! Well, because she thought it would be great fun to make everything from scratch, including the DUMB noodles.

So, here I am waiting for my dough to "rest" (whatever that means!), so that I can cut out some egg noodles for my soup tonight. (I've made egg noodles before, they're not hard, just time-consuming...)

Note to self: Always buy egg noodles anyway!

PS: You know Amish Egg Noodles are the best store-bought egg noodles right? They're the best. Duh! They're Amish!

PPS: (There were a lot of (parenthesis) in this post, weren't there?!)

Transitioning...

I knew this was coming. I kept telling myself I would soon have to deal with it. Why am I having such a hard time with it????????

Holynd is finally doing away with naps.

I had a little voice tell me that getting rid of the binkie would do this, but I didn't realize it would happen so fast. I'm a little sad to not have nap time anymore, but I've decided to still have "quiet-time". Holynd is currently laying on my bed watching a movie. She still gets tired, just not tired enough to nap, so this is my solution.

If spring doesn't get here soon I may go insane.

I'm hoping this will mean an earlier bedtime....

POST-EDIT!: After I wrote this post.... This happened.

Maybe she's not ready to give up naps after all. :)

Call the Papers!

Holynd has given up the binkie. We can't actually say the "b" word in front of her without her asking for her binkie. And, most of the time, during naps she still asks for it. I just keep telling her the "binkie fairy" took it and gave her a Barbie instead. She really doesn't want to give up the Barbie. :)

I also spent the weekend doing laundry!

YAY!

Why does this call for a celebration?! I'll tell you...

I got a new washer and dryer. No more pliers for me! Woot! Woot! My circa-1970 washer and dryer are no longer residents in this household! I now have a washer that actually agitates clothes, so I don't have to wash them by hand with a toothbrush prior to washing AND my dryer actually senses when clothes are dry! Can you believe the technology I've been missing out on!??!

This week held...

This week held a lot of nothing for us...

Sloanie is still loving table food. Black beans and shredded carrots. :)

Holynd enjoyed a 'salon-day' at Cookie Cutters. This is, by far, the best place in the world for kids to get their hair cut. Every time it's windy Holynd yells, "Oh no! My haircut!".

Sloane can not figure out why Holynd insists on sitting in the toy bin. Holynd calls it her boat and makes pirate sounds while she's in it.

As it turns out, my girls are huge Beatles fans. "Come Together" is one of our favorite songs lately. Holynd likes to have us dance on the "stage" (which is the hallway) with buckets on our heads (which are our "costumes"). Hallway dancing is perfect when you don't want the neighbors to see you!

We're trying to help Sloane learn how to crawl and cut teeth. She's been cutting the same two teeth for two weeks now. She's getting pretty miserable and so am I!

The girls are also big fans of the Volvo. I'm a big fan too 'cause it has four doors and you don't have to injure yourself trying to put carseats in the back. Matt once split a pair of jeans right up the crotch putting Holynd in the Scion. (Yes, I just said crotch on my blog. Quit reading if you're offended!)

We're making shrimp tonight! I bet Sloanie loves it!

Happy weekend!
