Throwdown: Holynd vs Heckles

Heckles hasn't shown much interest in the baby since she has started to blabber, drool, kick and scream.
In fact, sometimes I think he misses his peace-and-quiet.
He still hates it when she cries and doesn't hesitate to bark his head off when she wakes up from her nap and begins to fuss.

However, lately there has been a little war going on.

Holynd has an addiction..... A stuffed animal addiction. The dog can't stand it.

With that in mind, meet Yurdle the Turtle.

Yurdle has been a life-saver for me because he keeps Holynd entertained so that I can tackle housework knowing that Holynd is occupied. Holynd likes to "talk" to him and chew on his head.
The dog has different feelings. Now, Matt and I are not one of those couples that considers Heckles one of our children. He is a dog, a pet. We love him as a pet.
So when I noticed that he started to sniff Holynd's newfound friend, I told him no and figured that Yurdle would have to be closely watched in order to prevent himself from becoming a "Dog-Only Toy". (Holynd would've been heartbroken if her Yurdle had to be taken away.)
Little did I know that Holynd could hold her own.
While I was doing dishes yesterday, I heard Heckles begin to yelp. I walked into the living room to see what was up and I couldn't believe what had happened.
In response to Heckles sniffing her beloved Yurdle, Holynd had grabbed the dog's chin hair and pulled with all her might. All the while, keeping a firm grasp on her Yurdle. (Because Heckles knows that he's no more than a pet, he didn't dare fight back.)
The dog doesn't dare come close to the stuffed animal now.
PS: Since this story was directly related to Holynd. I figured I could post about my pet. My mom has a strict rule on not posting about pets. However, Heckles had to be mentioned in order to prove that my daughter is very smart and a little bit mean.

A Day Off!!!!!

Sometimes I feel like a have three fulltime jobs.

1. Mom
2. Homemaker
3. Student

Well, yesterday I took a day off from two. All weekend long I kept telling myself that I had to get caught up from my few "sick days" last week. So, Wednesday I woke up really really tired! I checked my U-Page for any looming due dates, realized there were none; looked over my house, realized it was still pretty clean and organized; looked at my super-cute baby and declared it a Mommy-only day!

Bean and I made "sticky-popcorn" and sat around and played all day long. During naptime, mommy did some scrapbooking and didn't go within a 5 ft radius of her laptop. It was an awesome way to rejuvenate!

For dinner I decided to dip into my box dinner reserves. (A couple months ago, I decided that any dinner that came out of a box were out-lawed in my kitchen. But I had a frozen lasanga hidden in the freezer for such an occasion.)

It was such a wonderful day that Bean decided to sit up all by herself!!!!!

She thought she was really amazing! (She's not looking 'cause she was trying to pay attention to The View. She's just like her mommy!)
