This View...

I hate this view. It kills me that some days my baby's days are spent looking at the back of my laptop while I do homework. I do not spend most days like this. I try really hard to make baby's naptime also mommy's homework time. Today is an exception because I've been sick.

I had a huge realization this week. I figured I had realized how you couldn't take a "day-off" from being a parent, but I hadn't. When I woke up sicker-then-a-dog Monday morning, (Matt was sick too.) it was hard to come to terms with this fact: Even when you can't take care of yourself, you still have to take care of your child. Even though I was too dizzy to stand, Bean still wanted to be rocked back to sleep, sung to, and played with.

Thank goodness for Grandmas!

Now I'm torn. I'm torn between cleaning my house, (which has went two days without being cleaned) doing my laundry, (which is piled sky-high) doing homework, (I have three papers due by tomorrow) or making up for lost play-time with Bean.

I pick Bean.
