I'll Need A Spoon Please

I started thinking about baby brother's 1st birthday awhile ago.

I've been terrible with 1st birthday parties. Actually, I've been terrible with all birthday parties.

I really went back and forth with Maddox's birthday party. I have a hard time with first birthdays because they seem to be more for the parents then anybody.

In the end, I decided to go through with it.

I picked a theme and started making a guest list.

And the list went on and on and on....

It was just too hard to figure out who to invite because Maddox didn't really have any friends and then I didn't know where to stop as far as our friends and family went.

So I decided to just to my party for the Peterson Party that November.

Unfortunately, the Peterson Party ended up getting moved to Thanksgiving.

I decided to save my theme and go more low-key.

We invited my family and Matt's parents and had a little party.

I'm really excited about how it went because it seemed to be all about Maddox.

When Matt and I started shopping for Maddox, we went a little crazy. We kept adding more and more and more. The truth of the matter, Maddox didn't really have toys of his own. So, we let ourselves go a little nuts.

Maddox loved all his presents. Even though the sissys kinda hogged them.

Maddox didn't really seem to love his cake.

In fact, he got a little upset.

Until we gave him a spoon...

Then he really got into it.

I still can't believe he's already one. Where does the time go?!

  2. I am not a huge fan of birthday parties. I think you made the right call, plus it is less stress on you which makes you a happier mother. What a cutie. Love him. Oh, and Graham got that lizard/pillow/sit on thing and loves to push it everywhere. So fun.
