Funny Stuff

Holynd is speaking so well. Sometimes I feel like I can have actual conversations with her, which can be nice when Matt works a lot. ;)

I need to record some of the stuff she says so we don't forget. And so we can make fun of her when she's older.

One day when we were leaving, Holynd swung her princess purse over her shoulder and said, "Let's go ladies!".

Every morning Holynd asks to brush her teeth while I do her hair. "Oh mommy. I need my Dora toothbrush and toothpaste" then, when I'm done with her hair she tells me, "I need hair spray and fume". Fume is perfume. She's very polite and almost always thanks me. "Oh, thank you Mommy! I'm sooooo cute!".

Holynd loves stories and books. One of her favorites lately is the Three Little Pigs. She always tells us that, "Puff and puff and blow your house down!".

Anytime something out of the ordinary happens, she says, "What the heck?!" or "Oh crap!" Probably not the best phrases for a two-year old to know, but what do ya do? Matt and I aren't perfect! We're just glad she's not repeating everything she hears around here. ;)

Sloane is always getting into trouble lately, or so it seems. Holynd is a fantastic tattle-tell. The problem is, half the stuff she blames Sloane for would be physically impossible for Sloane to do right now. "Mom! Sloanie messed up my bed and throwed the blankets on the floor!", "Mom! Sloanie knocked my playhouse over!", "Mom! Sloanie turned the TV on!" This list could go on for awhile.

Holynd is a girlie-girl through and through. She HATES to be dirty and doesn't like to have messy clothes. "Mommy! I need to change my shirt. I spilled.", "Oh no! I'm sticky! Help me wash my hands.", "I have stuff on my face! I need a wipey!".

She gets very upset when Sloane isn't playing the "games" right. When Holynd wants to play in the kitchen and have tea parties, Sloane doesn't exactly cooperate. I don't blame her. Holynd is very strict when it comes to playtime. "Mommy! Sloanie won't drink her tea!", "Sloanie needs a time-out! She spilled her dinner!", "Oh-no! Sloanie throwed her plate! Time-out!". Apparently, we need to start teaching that only mom and dad can give time-outs.

Holynd loves to go places, especially church. She's always telling me to take her to church, which is great, except for she wants to go during the middle of the week. "I need to go to my church".

One day, we were at lunch with G-Ma and this man with a really long beard walked passed. Holynd stared at him for a minute and then looked at me and said, "Oh my gosh! It's Jesus!". We had to try and hide our laughter.

We try to have family prayer in the morning. We're only at about a 75% success rate, but hey, we're trying. This has led Holynd to want to say prayers whenever we get ready to leave the house. I think she does this because we always say prayers right before Matt leaves for the day. She stops us and folds her arms and says, "Hayley Father. Thank you for my day. Thank you for Sloanie. Amen!". We are very thankful for Sloanie.

There was one morning when I was having a particularly difficult time getting out of bed. Holynd came in our room and walked over to me and said, "Mommy. Don't feel good? Need a shot?".

I always tell my friends that have boys that even though they have to worry about the dirt, worms etc etc, I get to worry about stuff like this: Holynd was kinda grumpy one day and we were really having a hard morning. I got after her for sitting on Sloane (poor Sloanie) and she got really upset. She ran into her room, slammed the door and screamed, "I don't love you anymore Mommy!". Lovely. She then proceeded to fake cry as loud as she could for 15 minutes.

I'm sure we'll have many continuations to this post. :)

  1. Your girls are so adorable. I love the "fume"--aren't girls fun? Boys are fun, too, in their own way. And that is so cute that she thought that man was Jesus. Good thing you're recording all their quirks and cute lines to look back on : )
